It almost feels like a little brake since we have returned from Scotland and now starting to get ready for the next round of the Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathons powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport in Marshbrook. More about that in a minute.
We have had lots of great feedback from the Selkirk round and we have already started looking into the possibility of running the UK MTB Marathon Champs again in 2013. We will keep you posted on the developments via the website and the newsletter.
Photos from Selkirk round still available
Our long standing event photographer Jon Brook has been in touch telling us that the photos from the Selkirk round – sportive, marathon and marathon champs – are still up on his site. He managed to get some great images from the weekend. So pop over to www.rightplacerighttime.co.uk to check them out!

Where next?
The next round is taking us to a location we introduced in 2011 and which was loved by everyone. The location is Marshbrook (14-15th July) in Shropshire (to be more precise the Shropshire Hills Mountain Bike and Outdoor Pursuits Centre) and the event weekend will offer something for the roadies out there as well as for the trail enthusiasts. The event in Marshbrook will offer two sportive rides on Saturday – an 85mile long classic sportive (with approx. 2,800 meters of climbing) and a 50mile long standard sportive (with approx. 1,700m of climbing). After the sportive the focus will turn onto the
pasta party (included in the MTB Marathon entry and weekend ticket) as well as the live music (and bar) which will be based right in the centre of the event village.
Sunday will be all about riding some 1st class trails. Three marathon distances (75, 45 and 25km) are available for the riders to choose from so that everybody can find the right challenge for the day. You can find the details of the Marshbrook event on our event page and we will update the news section with some detailed course information over the next couple of weeks. What we can say at this stage is that the marathon courses will spoil the riders with fantastic views, challenging climbs and descents. And to top it all off we keep the longest single track in Shropshire or possibly in England for the very end of the course. Enjoy!

Riders can join the fun in teams of three or solo and if three days are too long there is also a one-day option available as well.
